Parent’s Council

The Governors of The Vine South Essex Hub believe that every school needs to understand it’s parents for many reasons. Here at St Margaret’s, parents and families have an enormous influence on their child’s learning. Professor John Hattie’s study in 2008 found that the,

“effect of parental engagement over a student’s school career is equivalent to adding two or three years to that student’s education.”

At St Margaret’s C of E Academy we have an active Parent Council group.  This group meet with the Head Teacher each term to discuss relevant topics and to share their views and feedback.  This group enables the leadership of the school and the parent body to meaningfully engage with each other giving our parents and children a ‘voice’.

We value the views and opinions of all members of the parent body.  At parents evening we want to gather the views of all parents.  The analysis of our latest questionnaire is available below.  We were overwhelmed with your responses and are already working on some of the areas you would like to see developed.

100% of parent’s strongly agreed or agreed that their children are taught well and that it is clear St Margaret’s has a distinctly Christian Vision.
99% of parent’s strongly agreed or agreed that their children are happy and feel safe at St Margaret’s
